Leadermac Co. CEO Re-appointed TWMA Chairman for Further 3 years
The 6th TWMA’s annual members’ meeting was held on November 23, 2018, in Taichung, with 129 members joined the events. Michael Chang, the chairman of TWMA and CEO of Leadermac Machinery Co., Ltd., has been re-appointed, with the highest margin, to head TWMA for the next 3 years.
The election results have proved that Michael Chang has earned high recognition from members. Within the past three years, Chang had actively built a cooperative relationship with domestic and foreign governments, legal personalities, academic institutions, and industrial associations. This year TWMA earned award due to high performance and has been included in the policy of the smart machine development. Chang indicated that smart machine combines manufacturing and technology, which is a feasible way for the development of Taiwan woodworking machinery.
In the aspect of International relationship, TWMA had engaged in dialogues with Japan Woodworking Machinery Association (JWMA), Lungjiao Woodworking Machinery Association, Handicraft, and Wood Industry Association of HCMC (HAWA). For HAWA, TWMA had signed MoU with HAWA about establishing Taiwan woodworking machinery training center in HCMC.
Michael Chang encouraged members to promote their own business. Due to China-US trade war, there was few Chinese woodworking machinery manufacturing joining International Woodworking Fair in Atlanta this year. Instead, many Chinese manufacturers poured into Vietnam market. Though Vietnam has turned into red ocean market, Taiwanese still have to enter for competition. Thus, the next goal of TWMA, Chang said, is to seek blue ocean strategy for members.
TWMA now has 274 members. In 2017, the total value of Taiwan woodworking machinery exports is USD 595 million, ranked the top 4th in the world, after Germany, Italy, and China.
